A 40 anni da Stonewall

L'artista Jon Gilbert Leavitt è l'autore e l'interprete di "Pride 2009", canzone con cui ha voluto commemorare un anniversario importantissimo per la comunità GLBT del mondo occidentale: i quarant'anni dai Moti di Stonewall, quando, la notte tra il 27 e il 28 Giugno 1969, la trans Sylvia Rivera iniziò quella che sembrava una zuffa - ma si rivelò poi una rivoluzione - con la polizia venuta a prelevare a forza i clienti di un locale gay di New York, lo Stonewall Inn, al numero 53 di Christopher Street. I GLBT ebbero la meglio e occuparono il locale per diversi giorni. Un anno dopo, il 27 Giugno 1970, la militante Brenda Howard propose la parata del Gay Pride per ricordare per sempre quella rivoluzione.
Il bellissimo e curatissimo video di "Pride 2009" mostra oltre 100 anni di storia americana dal punto di vista della comunità GLBT, giungendo a un futuro ideale in cui la nostra gente spera ardentemente.
Questa la traduzione del ritornello: "Fierezza, dobbiamo avere fierezza - siamo in giro da troppo tempo per tenerla dentro.
Fierezza, non possiamo sedirci di nuovo e guardare da un angolo. La fierezza è potere e il potere è fierezza.
